Apocalypto

recently i just went to watch Mel Gibson's Apocalypto. Have the chance to get rather cheap tickets from this ntu guy at the rate of $4.50 per ticket. Haha, went to catch it before the voucher expires.

Wanyun told me that the movie is pretty gruesome. I didnt really felt anything when she said it because i felt that as a guy, i should have a higher threshold and tolerance for violence although i dont really approve of it. Well, the movie is really interesting and it really reminded me of the days when i watched the screening of this caveman imax show which i have watched in Omni Theatre back in primary school.

Despite historian/archaeologist critic of inaccurate information, i felt that the show is overall a very interesting movie. After all, we couldnt possibly go back to 3000 years ago right?
It also reminded me of the first nations red indian natives which i chance upon in Canada last year.

Mr Jaguar Paw did a good job in playing his role. It was pretty jialut watching how the intruders capture the villagers, killing jaguar paw's father, bullying the women, getting them tied to poles and braving the strong currents as the crossed the river channel. i think the m18 rating was justified with all the slashing of throat, taking out of the heart and yes, the kuih chap i ate before the movie was a unwise choice.

The touching scene was when Jaguar Paw braved the long chase by the other tribe, to get back to his wife in the end. Both of them survived not on their strength or their intelligence but on the will that is upon the final words that Mr Jaguar Paws has promised before he was caught. I think the movie itself is wellworth what i paid. Only thing i dont understand is how the actors actually stuff things into thir earlobes... are they real ears or what..eek
